As an economic-liberalist, the electoral coalition that may elect me to Council, can transcend the power of the people into effective governmental policies by the City of Federal Way.  Policies such as a campaign finance ordinance that would help F.W. commoners with the financial wherewithal to run competitive, or at least credible, campaigns for Council/F.W. offices-in-general.  Homestead credits for homeowners and tax rebates/refunds for renters, a la Minnesota state;  rooming provisions for persons without homes, educational mobility and job stabilization centers, and disabled and elderly care informational/help centers, to name a few.  Help Federal Way do our part in leading America out of post-20th century stagnation to 21st century robustness. -- Mark Greene, candidate for Federal Way City Council (Position 1)   [Originally posted on the Revived Citizens Party ...

Tweedle-dum or tweedle-dee, or pure idealism, or just plain idealism?  It never ceases to amaze us how America, of all nations, is so reluctant to do something as minimal as peacefully and civilly announcing a "pox on both their houses" when it comes to the pretty much corrupt major political parties, here, and merely vote for virtually anything that says I'm not a part of them, meaning whatever available third parties and independents there are.  Yet, third parties do dreadfully poorly as voters willfully play musical chairs between the Democrats and the Republicans, and therein goes the puzzle inside the dilemma.  Do third parties persist in spite of the practically mind-boggling poor election numbers or should they just take on an "if you can't beat them, join them" posture even though the latter is something akin to self-flagellation?  Actually, most of the minor  parties are themselves to blame by taking on a de...

 Remembering Roger Freeman: 1965 - 2014 Now that the memorial for Roger Freeman, the deceased, widely respected state representative of the 30th District, transpired a week ago, discussions about who will fill the vacant 30th District representative seat will be going forward in full swing.  First, there will be an appointment to fill the vacancy, but there also has to be an election in November of 2015.  The Revived Citizens Party has come close to recruiting a young, politically active woman to run for the seat next year, but there is no firm decision, yet, as of Nov. 30, 2014.   For now, we will keep her name under the radar until she makes an announcement, but her possible advancement into elective politics as a third party candidate would surely be a welcome change from the corporate-shilling, anti-union "Democratic-Republican Party."  For decades, now, the shift of wealth from the lower and middle cl...
